VEINNET is an acronym for Vulnerable Empowerment Initiative Network.
These are the group who, by virtue of their constitution or/and circumstances, are more susceptible to danger and open to further deterioration in the face of more challenges if help does not come and perhaps quickly too, deserve a special attention.
The vulnerable group includes pregnant women, lactating mothers, infants and children, particularly those under-5 years of age, the aged, the sick (physically and mentally challenged); and the immuno-compromised people.
The disposition of this group, coupled with their numerical strength negates development efforts and contributes adversely towards development indices. They thus require special attention through special programs and policies and strategies for inclusion.
